Sunshine, Smiles, and Summer Miles
We are so excited about where God is leading us! This summer, we have a full lineup of joyful, hands-on activities planned for our kiddos. We’ll be visiting the splash pad, hosting a small Fourth of July potluck, and enjoying many other adventures that let our children explore the world God created.
Our lesson plans are just as meaningful. So far we’ve explored butterflies, celebrating the beauty of God’s design in their transformation. Next we’ll learn about bees, and then spiders, discovering how each creature has a purpose in God’s creation. Every theme includes faith-centered artwork and activities—tracing letters and numbers, and coloring the insects, learning about their life cycles, practicing the letters they begin with, and talking about how God made each one wonderfully and intentionally. The kids have been loving it, and we’re grateful to nurture their curiosity through a biblical lens.
Our toddler teacher is also doing an incredible job with our toddlers and preschoolers. They are learning to recognize their letters and numbers, along with the sound each letter makes. She has exciting, Christ-centered lesson plans coming up and some very fun artwork that ties into God’s creation and character. She works closely with each child to help them meet their developmental milestones, and we are so grateful for the love, patience, and faith she brings into the classroom.
Our kiddos are growing so fast and learning so much each day. Our babies have been working hard on their alphabet, phonetic sounds, counting 1-5, shapes, and basic colors. They’re picking up these skills beautifully thanks to consistent, loving teaching. It has been such a blessing watching our infant teacher read Scripture-based stories, sing worship songs and learning songs, and guide them through gross motor skills, fine motor skills, social-emotional growth, and cognitive activities—all rooted in the belief that each child is wonderfully made by God.
We are truly excited to watch our kids grow, learn, and reach each milestone God has set before them. Preparing them for kindergarten, preschool, and the toddler room has been an absolute joy. Creating a safe, faith-based, joyful, and engaging environment where children can learn and thrive is a blessing we cherish deeply. We are so excited for the future and for all the growth we’ll continue to see in these amazing kiddos.
We also want to keep everyone update on our licensing journey. We have been working diligently with the state to become a licensed in-home daycare through ECECD, but we are still experiencing pushbacks. We’ve redone our application three times, submitted every document requested, and are now being asked for paperwork that does not apply to our program. We are praying for clarity, wisdom, and the right people to help us move forward so we can continue serving families with excellence and integrity.
As always, we appreciate your patience, support, and prayers as we grow. We are committed to creating a safe, joyful, Christ-centered environment where every child is loved, valued, and encouraged.
Small Beginnings: Big Dreams, LLC January Update
Happy New Year!!!!
Here at Small Beginnings: Big Dreams, LLC, we take great pride in our teachers. Our staff has been instrumental in our success, and we are grateful for the dedication they show every day. We are especially pleased with how wonderfully our new baby‑room teacher has fit into our program. She is such a sweet, patient, soft‑spoken lady who adores our babies just as much as we do. She is currently on maternity leave, so please keep this in mind as we continue supporting her during this special time.
We also want to update you on our septic project. We have a team actively reviewing everything, and they are working closely with ECECD to finalize all required details and guidelines. Once we receive the finalized plans, we will move forward with upgrading the septic system and applying for ECECD licensing. As soon as everything is complete, we will share the news with you. We are thrilled to see this step finally coming together.
In addition, we have made a decision regarding our future building plans. We will not be moving into a new building; instead, we will be purchasing this home and transforming it into a full childcare center. This long‑term plan includes creating new rooms for both babies and preschoolers as we gradually expand into the rest of the house. Please remember that this transition will take time. We appreciate your patience as our family searches for a new home so that this space can eventually be fully dedicated to the daycare.
We are truly excited for the year ahead and all the joy, growth, and new opportunities it will bring. It is an honor to be part of your family’s future, and we look forward to stepping into this new season together.
Loved No Matter What
This month at Small Beginnings, our classrooms are focusing on something really special: God loves us no matter what. The heart of Romans 5:8 is that God doesn’t wait for us to be perfect or to get everything correct. Jesus demonstrates that he loves us just the way we are in various stories in the New Testament. Like in Luke 15:3 - 7 when the shepherd was watching over his 100 sheep, but how he left the 99 sheep to search for the one lost sheep. This story demonstrates how deeply God loves each and every one of us. He would leave the safe sheep of his flock just to seek out the lost one and bring them back into the fold.
This month we are going to be exploring this truth through play, storytelling, and gentle conversations. Tor our toddlers and preschoolers, this means learning that love doesn’t disappear when we spill our juice, throw a tantrum, or forget to say thank you. God’s love stays. It wraps around us in every moment, because He chose to love us first.
Children experience that love in the way we care for them. In the quiet hugs after tears, in simple prayers before lunch, in the joy of a shared toy or a helping hand. Romans 5:8 reminds us that love is more important than words; it’s action. It is patience when we’re learning. It’s kindness when we don’t feel our best. It’s belonging, even when we make mistakes.
And because the children at Small Beginnings are learning about God’s love in real, everyday ways, they are also beginning to reflect that love back. We see it in the way they comfort a crying friend, share their toys, or pray for their pets and families. Their hearts are soft to the message, because they are experiencing it all around them.
This month’s verse is more than a memory goal; it’s a foundation for how we grow. And as we head into the rest of the summer, we are thankful to be part of helping children grow in confidence, kindness, and the kind of love that doesn’t give up.
We are so glad to be walking this journey with your family. We pray that the message of Romans 5:8 fills your home this month with the peace of knowing you are loved, no matter what.
Small Beginnings: Growing, Thriving, and Embracing a Bright Future
Small Beginnings: Growing, Thriving, and Embracing a Bright Future
At Small Beginnings, we are passionate about creating a faith-based, nurturing environment where children can grow, learn, and feel truly supported. Over the past few months, we’ve taken bold steps toward refining our daycare’s operations, enhancing safety measures, and expanding opportunities for the families we serve. Today, we are thrilled to share exciting updates about our growth and what’s ahead!
Strengthening Our Foundation: Updated Policies & Handbook
A strong daycare starts with clear expectations, structured routines, and policies that prioritize safety and well-being. We have been hard at work refining and updating our parent handbook to ensure that every aspect of our daycare reflects our commitment to protecting and nurturing children. From safety protocols to transparent communication strategies, these updates are designed to provide families with confidence and peace of mind.
Becoming an Official LLC
One of our most exciting milestones is officially becoming a Limited Liability Company (LLC). This transition strengthens our professional foundation, ensuring stability for our operations as we continue to serve families with excellence and care. Formalizing our business allows us to grow strategically, opening doors for future expansion and new opportunities to support our community.
Our Journey to State Licensing
Another significant step in our journey is working toward state licensing, which will allow us to expand our services and strengthen our impact. Meeting state licensing standards ensures that Small Beginnings is operating at the highest level of safety, curriculum quality, and childcare excellence. While this process is thorough, we fully embrace it—knowing it will only elevate our ability to serve families in a meaningful way.
Building Our Team: Seeking Passionate Educators
As we grow, we’re eager to expand our team by welcoming compassionate, dedicated teachers who share our passion for early childhood education. Our staff plays a vital role in shaping children’s experiences, fostering their curiosity, and building a foundation for lifelong learning. We are excited about the opportunity to bring new educators into our family, ensuring that each child receives the care, guidance, and support they deserve.
Thoughtfully Designed Play & Calming Spaces
At Small Beginnings, we believe that every child should have the space to explore, engage, and feel secure. That’s why we’ve designed organized activity centers where children can play, collaborate, and learn in structured, stimulating environments. These spaces encourage creativity, social interaction, and skill-building while providing a sense of order and excitement.
We also recognize that some children need a moment to decompress, which is why we have created calming centers for sensory-sensitive kiddos or those feeling overwhelmed. These spaces are designed to provide comfort, support, and peace, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to regulate their emotions and feel truly at ease.
Looking Ahead: Join Us on This Journey
We are incredibly proud of the steps we’ve taken to strengthen Small Beginnings and expand our impact. With new policies, structural improvements, staffing growth, and our commitment to licensing, we are continuously working to provide the best possible experience for the children and families we serve.
