Loved No Matter What
This month at Small Beginnings, our classrooms are focusing on something really special: God loves us no matter what. The heart of Romans 5:8 is that God doesn’t wait for us to be perfect or to get everything correct. Jesus demonstrates that he loves us just the way we are in various stories in the New Testament. Like in Luke 15:3 - 7 when the shepherd was watching over his 100 sheep, but how he left the 99 sheep to search for the one lost sheep. This story demonstrates how deeply God loves each and every one of us. He would leave the safe sheep of his flock just to seek out the lost one and bring them back into the fold.
This month we are going to be exploring this truth through play, storytelling, and gentle conversations. Tor our toddlers and preschoolers, this means learning that love doesn’t disappear when we spill our juice, throw a tantrum, or forget to say thank you. God’s love stays. It wraps around us in every moment, because He chose to love us first.
Children experience that love in the way we care for them. In the quiet hugs after tears, in simple prayers before lunch, in the joy of a shared toy or a helping hand. Romans 5:8 reminds us that love is more important than words; it’s action. It is patience when we’re learning. It’s kindness when we don’t feel our best. It’s belonging, even when we make mistakes.
And because the children at Small Beginnings are learning about God’s love in real, everyday ways, they are also beginning to reflect that love back. We see it in the way they comfort a crying friend, share their toys, or pray for their pets and families. Their hearts are soft to the message, because they are experiencing it all around them.
This month’s verse is more than a memory goal; it’s a foundation for how we grow. And as we head into the rest of the summer, we are thankful to be part of helping children grow in confidence, kindness, and the kind of love that doesn’t give up.
We are so glad to be walking this journey with your family. We pray that the message of Romans 5:8 fills your home this month with the peace of knowing you are loved, no matter what.
